What RavenRoom keeps

RavenRoom is a student project, not a Carleton service. This is everything it stores about you and when it goes away.

What is stored

Your email address, and the request you made: the date, the hours you said you were free, and how many minutes you needed. With it, the times the address was first seen and the request was created, confirmed and filled, plus a random token that makes the confirm and cancel links work.

When an alert is sent, a row records which room, which time slot, and when. That row identifies you by an internal number, not your address.

Room availability is stored separately and holds nothing personal, only rooms and times. For rate limiting, your address and IP sit in memory for up to a day. Neither is written to disk.

When it is deleted

If you never click the confirmation link, the request is deleted once the link expires 48 hours later. If you do confirm, it is deleted the night after the day you picked. The cancel link in every email deletes the request immediately.

Your address is removed on the next nightly pass once you have no requests left and no alert records. Alert records are kept 30 days, so if RavenRoom has emailed you, the address goes about a month later. If it never did, within a day.

What leaves

Email is delivered by Resend, which receives the recipient address and the message itself. Nothing else about you goes anywhere. Application logs refer to you by an internal number, never your address. Nothing is sold or shared.

No tracking

No cookies, no analytics, no third-party scripts, no fonts loaded from anywhere else. These pages talk only to RavenRoom.
